Sculpture Milwaukee is a non-profit organization transforming downtown Milwaukee’s landscape every year with an annual outdoor exhibition of world-renowned sculpture that serves as a catalyst for community engagement, economic development, and creative placemaking.

Privately funded and open at no cost to visitors, Sculpture Milwaukee makes sculpture accessible for everyone to enjoy.

Sculpture Milwaukee believes great art has the power to rouse individuals, bring people together and make Milwaukee an even better place. And Guardian agrees! Guardian is a proud sponsor of Sculpture Milwaukee's Sculpture Talks.  Curated by Deb Brehmer of the Portrait Society Gallery, the talks offer the public an inside look at how artists, collectors, and the community come together in the spirit of Public Art.

So far, two of the 2020 Sculpture Milwaukee Sculpture Talks are online and can be found
HERE:
  • Collectors Sheldon and Marianne Lubar speak with Russel Bowman about Roxy Paine's Cleft from the Series Dendroids.
  • Sculptors Mary Miss and Maggie Sasso speak with Haggerty Museum of Art curator Emilia Layden about their works in relation to eachother and to the waterways of Milwaukee.
Coming Soon:
  • A recent conversation with Brad Anthony Bernard and B-Free on Nari Ward's Apollo/Poll
  • A live zoom talk with Courtney J. Martin, curator at Dia Art Foundation and sculptor Thomas J. Price on Thursday, December 3, 2020, the final Sculpture Talk in the series for 2020
