Two‐Way Crate
Most common crate; used for multiple stops or two‐way shipping but not recommended for
long‐term storage or shipping
Museum Quality Travel and Storage Crate
Our highest‐quality crate made for long‐term travel or storage
Slat Crate
Appropriate for delicate objects that need to be suspended inside a crate for shipping. Generally used for large sculptures and furniture.
Crate Interior Options
2-dimensional works that have fragile frames or no frame are recommended to be placed inside a travel frame. This protects the edges of the frame or painting while in travel as the artwork gets attached directly to the Travel frame with Oz clips, thus preventing any contact with bumpers or bracing.
Cavity packing is used for fragile objects that need full support. Cavities are usually cut out of Ethafoam and lined with Tyvek, but other materials appropriate to the object may be considered.
An interior box or crate within a crate may be used for high-valued objects to provide added protection against physical and environmental shock.
A tray system made of coroplast and Ethafoam bumpers can be employed to crate multiple framed works in one crate.
Plywood trays can also be utilized for heavier objects.
